Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation
We build prosperous communities by fostering philanthropic corporate culture and advancing the impact of effective charitable organizations.
After years of donating to local charities, our board created the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation in 2009 to provide a structure that advances our corporate giving strategy and increases our long-term impact. We invest in outstanding local non-profit organizations and employee programs designed to build a philanthropic corporate culture and strengthen our communities. The foundation’s focus is to ensure the care of vulnerable children and families by supporting organizations that meet food, housing, health, safety, and education needs. We encourage our employees to get involved through our annual Volunteer Trip, Volunteer Grants, and Matched Donation programs. Through our partnership with the Hovde Foundation, we opened a shelter for trafficked children in Ghana and provided countless volunteer hours to children’s homes in Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Malawi, Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and Bolivia. By donating a percentage of the bank’s annual profits through grant funding, we have reached over 150 organizations and granted $5.3 million to support families and children worldwide.
